Performance Assessments  - ICDG Members are engaged by financial institutions, investors, boards of directors or the management of the client organization to determine the status or viability of a business. This work takes into account several key factors including; market conditions and events, financial performance, operating performance, management capability, infrastructure and support systems. The work product forms the basis of a report for the client that is used to determine a course of action. In the case of financial institutions our reports are used in relation to the decision to continue or sever the client relationship. Following the presentation of our report Members are often engaged by the client (frequently at the insistence of the financial institution) to provide management with advice and counsel as well as providing financial institutions with comfort during the period of forbearance or performance improvement.   ICDG is also instrumental in helping the client identify new providers of capital.

Breakthrough Initiatives  - Members, based on their extensive experience, assist clients in the process of identifying, defining and taking advantage of strategic and tactical breakthrough opportunities by designing and implementing operational and / or financial plans designed to improve work processes and systems.  Typically these opportunities are related to market conditions and events, competitive threats or weaknesses, technological issues and operational efficiency in all areas of a business.  The objective is to improve top line performance, improve gross margins, reduce operating expenses and to improve the efficiency of work processes and systems in functional areas within the business.

Crisis Management - Members have the experience and independence to cause clients to face up to crisis situations whether they are related to managerial, operational or financial performance.  In over 80% of these situations the crisis is related to the lack of liquidity; typically caused by indecision and the failure on the part of management to act timely.

Interim Management  - Members are engaged to help private and closely held family firms handle management transition underperformance, emergencies associated with illness, death, and family member conflict. In these cases Members assume an interim management role. Once the turnaround is solidly underway our Members assist in the recruiting, selection and replacement of management. In conflict situations Members focus on coaching and mentoring the manager and management team. In special situations the Member will introduce a licensed psychologist who is skilled in family conflict resolution.

Financial Structuring - In a crisis or turnaround situation, cash flow planning and management are critical. In performing this function for clients we focus on developing (in concert with management and other interested parties) a customized 13-week rolling cash flow model. In certain circumstances ICDG continues to be responsible for managing the cash flow of the client.  The objective in these situations is to provide the client with the time necessary to improve financial performance as the basis for maintaining or changing lender relationships successfully; e.g., to ensure the continued viability and success of the entity.
